I think I started this pencil drawing during a Mirage business meeting in 1992... something I used to do to try to accomplish two things at once. Not sure if it really worked, though. I find it interesting that I drew Leo's scabbard straps crossed over his chest in an "X" -- not how I've always drawn him in the comics. -- Peter Laird |

A couple of things have been going around the web which I thought I should clarify with a bit of reality. First up -- and I know Dan Berger already addressed this, but I want to also -- is the odd rumor which somehow came out of our signing at the That's Entertainment! comic book store in Worcester, MA last week (which, by the way, was a GREAT signing... I had a lot of fun). The rumor was that we were never going to do any more signings, ever. Apparently the person who started this rumor was at the signing and overheard one of the guys -- fatigued after signing non-stop for four hours -- facetiously say something to that effect, and decided that it would be fun to post this "news item" with no fact-checking. Well, I can't speak for the other guys (though I suspect they would say much the same thing), but I have no plans to make that my last signing. Second rumor is more of a misunderstanding. It has been stated a number of times in various places that the reason the new animated show does not feature Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady and the Technodrome is that Mirage does not have the rights to those characters. This is not true. We have the rights to those characters and most of the other characters from the old animated series. The reason they are not in the new show has NOTHING to do with rights issues, but rather the fact that I did not want to use them. |
