PETER LAIRD'S
Proposed TV Guide cover

This drawing bothers me -- not because I don’t like it, but because for the life of me I don’t know if it was ever used! I believe it was done for a proposed TV Guide cover. I penciled it, and Ryan Brown inked it (beautifully, as usual).

WOO HOO!!!

Sorry... just had to let that out, because I'm so PUMPED about the new TV show! Today (1/15/2003) 4Kids sent us the entire first episode (minus sound effects and music, but with all dialogue). I've already watched it several times, and I love it! It has what I consider to be the perfect blend of humor and action (almost exactly like the original Mirage comics). I can't wait to see the rest of the episodes!

WOO HOO!!! #2

Okay, I'm even more pumped now. Yesterday (1/17/2003) I had a creative meeting with Lloyd Goldfine from 4Kids, Vinnie Dalleva from Playmates Toys, and Gary Richardson from Mirage, where we discussed the second season (!) of the TMNT show. During that meeting, I saw the prototype for the new TMNT sewer lair playset that Vinnie brought with him. It's going to be BIG and VERY cool, with lots of action features -- it will also fold up into a sturdy boxlike carrier (you could probably fit at least the four Turtles and Splinter in there). Here's a digital photo I took of the prototype:
